Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Morse Code Audio ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use this website and its tools. We have designed Morse Code Audio to be privacy-friendly: the translator, audio generator, and all related tools run entirely in your browser, and the text you enter is never sent to or stored on our servers.
The short version
- We do not require an account and do not ask for personal details.
- The messages you translate are processed locally in your browser and never transmitted to us.
- Your settings and history (if any) are stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device.
- We use privacy-respecting analytics and, in the future, third-party advertising, both of which are described below.
Information we process
Information you enter
Text you type into the translator or CW generator is converted to Morse code (or back) entirely within your browser. It is not uploaded, logged, or shared. When you download audio or images, those files are generated on your device.
Local storage on your device
To remember your preferences (such as theme, speed, pitch, and tool history), we store small amounts of data in your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device, is not accessible to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser's settings.
Automatically collected technical data
Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics tools may process limited technical information — such as your approximate region, browser type, device type, and pages visited — to keep the site secure and to understand aggregate usage. This information is not used to personally identify you.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We and our third-party partners may use cookies and similar technologies (including local storage and pixels) for the following purposes:
- Essential: to remember your theme and tool settings.
- Analytics: to measure aggregate, non-identifying usage so we can improve the tools.
- Advertising: to serve and measure ads, as described in the next section.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site functions.
Advertising
Morse Code Audio is supported by advertising. We intend to display ads through third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense and may use other ad partners over time. These ads help keep the tools free to use.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- Where required, ad partners may rely on your consent. If you are in a region that requires a consent banner (such as the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), you will be asked for your advertising preferences and can change them at any time.
For more information on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's partner policy.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Google Analytics) to collect aggregate statistics about how the site is used. This helps us prioritise improvements. Analytics data is processed in aggregate and is not used to identify individual visitors.
How we use information
- To provide and maintain the tools and website.
- To remember your preferences on your device.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the experience.
- To display and measure advertising that funds the site.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited technical and advertising-related data only with service providers that help us run the site (such as our hosting provider, analytics provider, and ad networks), and only as needed for those services to function or as required by law.
Your choices and rights
- Clear your browser's local storage and cookies at any time.
- Opt out of personalised ads using the links above.
- Use browser settings or extensions to block cookies and tracking.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because we do not maintain accounts or personal profiles, most data is already under your direct control on your own device.
Children's privacy
Morse Code Audio is a general-audience educational tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising shown on the site is intended for a general audience.
Data security and retention
Because the tools run locally and we do not maintain user accounts, we hold very little data about you. Any aggregate technical data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
